The Start of the Plague October 1347

History started in the 14th century in the Mongol Empire. The Black Plague originated in Central Asia, where fleas carrying the disease infected the local rats. The disease spread in the Mongol Empire. Finally reaching the busy trade routes to Europe and Asia. The reason the plague spread so quickly throughout Europe was trade and military that allowed infected rats and fleas to travel around.

Where the Plague Started Spreading Quickly January 1348

The Italian port of Messina, the Black Death initially made its way to Europe in the 13th century. A Genoese commerce ship arrived in Messina in October 1347. That got many people infected with the virus.
